Some AUS students receive sponsorship from outside organizations to help fund their university studies. Our Sponsorship Liaison Services (SLS) team helps coordinate between external sponsoring organizations and the students they sponsor at AUS. While SLS does not grant sponsorship opportunities, the SLS team can help sponsored students in navigating the requirements of external sponsors.
How to Obtain Sponsorship
Applicants and students interested in obtaining sponsorship must approach the sponsoring organizations directly. Once a scholarship from an organization is granted, the applicant must complete all admissions formalities by the specified deadlines.
If you have been offered sponsorship, please ask your sponsoring organization to prepare a letter on the organization's letterhead that states their intent to offer sponsorship. It should include all of the following details:
- applicant’s/student’s name and AUS ID
- a detailed list of the required documents
- sponsorship terms and conditions, including terms to retain the sponsorship
- fees and charges that will be covered
A scan of this letter should be sent to sponsors@aus.edu.
What Sponsors Require
The requirements vary by sponsor, but the following list includes the documents that are normally required:
• valid passport copy
• copy of the family registration document (UAE nationals only)
• copy of identity card (in color)
• high school diploma attested by the Ministry of Education
• Admission Letter from AUS
• academic transcript (for graduate and transfer students)
• a recent passport-size photograph
Sponsors will set requirements that students need to meet in order to maintain sponsorship. These usually include the following:
• maintain the required semester minimum GPA as set by the sponsor
• maintain the required minimum cumulative GPA as set by the sponsor
• register for the compulsory number of courses each semester as required by the sponsor
• agree and commit to the program/major approved by the sponsor.
• agree and commit to the terms and conditions of the employment contract, if applicable
