How do I apply to AUS (bachelor’s or master’s degrees)?
Start by creating an account on apply.aus.edu.
You will receive an email to verify and activate your account. Once the account is verified, go to apply.aus.edu, then go to the tab Apply Online to start your application.

What is the minimum high school average to apply?
To be eligible to apply to AUS, a candidate must hold a recognized secondary school certificate with a minimum of 85 percent or more (or its equivalent) in the final year (national exams only) of secondary education, or 85 percent or more (or its equivalent) in the best two out of the last three years. How to activate your application account?
In order to start an application, first you need to activate your apply.aus.edu account.
Please refer to the email that was sent to you (subject: Online Account Activation E-mail ref-xxxxx) to activate your account. After activating your account you will be able to log in again and continue your application.

What are the secondary education certificates accepted by AUS?
AUS recognizes certificates awarded by ministries of education or by private schools and institutions. For detailed information, visit www.aus.edu/academic-requirements.
How do I submit the required supplemental items?
- To upload any missing document log in to apply.aus.edu, go to “View” next to your application, then under "Supplemental Items & Documents" tab attach clear colored scans to the applicable items by pressing “Choose File.”

What are the common online application errors?
- duplicate phone number entry
- entered address exceeds the 70-character limit
- typed statement of interest exceeds the 100-word limit

What do I do if I get document upload error ?
Kindly note that the documents need to be uploaded in PDF format only using either Firefox or Google Chrome as your browser. Documents with multiple pages are best to be uploaded in PDF format and should not exceed 7 MB.

What is the limit for the statement of interest?
The statement of interest limit is 100 words.
How do I pay the application fee?
Upon the submission of your online application, an application fee of AED420 [Undergraduate] or AED472.5 [Graduate] inclusive of 5% VAT is required.
You can pay the application fee securely using your credit card. Enter your email ID to receive a copy of your payment receipt
Only after your payment is successful, the application will be submitted and processed by the Office of Admissions.
Will my application be considered without my TOEFL, IELTS, EmSAT, or SAT score?
If not available when applying, applicants can submit their applications without the required SAT score or English Proficiency Language (EPL) test score such as TOEFL, IELTS, EmSAT English. In most cases, applicants would be admitted conditionally.
MBA and TESOL applicants and Doctoral applicants are required to submit a minimum Internet-Based TOEFL score of 80 or an IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic Version) or the equivalent for an application to be processed.
How do I find my application status?
To find the status of your application, log in to apply.aus.edu, go to Apply Online, and then tab/scroll to My Applications/Application Status.
Alternatively, once you receive your AUS username and password, log in to banner.aus.edu and click on Admissions. Enter your username (for example, g000xxxxx@aus.edu or b000xxxxx@aus.edu) along with your password. Click on Check Application Status to view your status and documents checklist.
Please check your email regularly for any updates regarding your status, holds, and received or missing documents.
Can I make changes to my application?
Applicants can make changes to their applications as long as the applications are still not submitted. Once an application is submitted, changes in the entries, excluding change of major or choosing a new term of entry, can only be done by AUS Admissions staff. Change requests can be submitted through infodesk.aus.edu.
Why can’t I find my application?
Incomplete applications are removed automatically based on one of the following criteria:
- Started applications that are not submitted by applicants will be deleted 30 days from the start date.
- Incomplete applications will be deleted when the deadline for applying to a chosen semester has passed. To find the deadlines for each semester, please visit aus.edu/deadlines-for-undergraduate-admissions or www.aus.edu/graduate/deadlines.
- Submitted applications that are missing required supplemental items will be withdrawn 15 days from the application submission date.
- Unprocessed multiple applications by an applicant will be deleted, except for the most recent application. If an applicant has one processed application, all other multiple applications will be deleted, regardless of precedence.
I submitted my online application. When will I receive my AUS username and password?
Once you have submitted a complete application, you will receive your AUS username and password within 10 working days. Your AUS username and password can be found in the email AUS E-mail account credentials, received after submitting a complete application.
I submitted my online application but now I would like to change my major. Do I need to submit another application?
Undergraduate applicants who applied can change their intended major of submitted application by logging in to apply.aus.edu (go to My Account / My Applications / Choose your active application / Click View/ Scroll down to Program Change Request).
Once the application is under review or admitted by the Office of Admissions, you will not be able to make changes to your application. In such a case, applicants need to submit a new application choosing the new intended major. For assistance you may submit a query on Infodesk.aus.edu with your AUS ID number. Applicants can submit a maximum of two applications in a semester.
Applicants for master’s degrees should reapply to change their program.
What are the SAT / EmSAT Math / ACT Math Requirements for AUS?
To join AUS, applicants studying in American curriculum schools inside UAE must submit a minimum SAT Math score of 450 or an EmSAT Achieve Math result of 500 before the beginning of the semester.
Applicants studying in American curriculum schools outside UAE must submit a minimum SAT Math score of 450 or ACT Math score of 16 before the beginning of the semester to be able to join AUS.
SAT Math or EmSAT Achieve Math is mandatory for applicants within the UAE.International Applicants can submit either SAT Math or ACT Math as a mandatory requirement.

How to view the Admission Letter ?
To view your Admission Letter, log in to apply.aus.edu and open your active application. Go to Decision History/ DECISION LETTER and Click on “Download”. Please check the above photo for more information.
If you are unable to view your Admission Letter kindly follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
- Your browser’s security settings might be preventing your Admission Letter from opening directly upon download. Go to your downloads folder to check if the letter was downloaded successfully and open it directly from the folder.
- Update your Java application. If your Java application is not up to date, it could prevent you from viewing your Admission Letter. Download the latest version and access apply.aus.edu again to view your letter.
- The Admission Letter is a PDF file. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF files.

Does AUS accept transfer students?
Yes. AUS encourages and welcomes applicants who meet the admissions requirements to transfer to AUS. For information on the admissions requirements, visit www.aus.edu/application-types-and-requirements.
What is the maximum number of credit hours that may be transferred to AUS for Bachelor's applicants?
Applicants enrolled in other four-year universities, colleges or any institution of higher education must apply as transfer applicants (Student Type: Transfer).
The minimum required course grade(s) to be considered for credit transfer will depend on the institution the applicant is transferring from. Courses are taken more than five years before joining AUS as an undergraduate student are not transferable. Furthermore, of the total credits required for a degree, a maximum of 50 percent of the credits completed in residence at another institution can be considered for transfer.
Transfer of credit will be subject to AUS academic rules and regulations. Refer to the AUS Undergraduate Catalog for more information.
How long does it take to inform a transfer applicant about the transferrable credit hours?
Usually, it takes the appropriate academic department two to three weeks to inform applicants of the number of credits to be awarded. Therefore, transfer applicants are encouraged to apply at least one month before the beginning of the semester for which they want to join AUS.
What is the minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) required for a bachelor transfer applicant to be considered for admission?
The required minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) depends on the type of institution the applicant is transferring from. The applicant must be in good academic standing coming from a recognized and accredited institution and should meet the English language requirement.
Can I defer my application? How?
Undergraduate and Graduate applicants who submitted an application or who got admitted can defer to the following semester, their submitted applications on apply.aus.edu (go to My Account / My Applications / Choose your active application / Click View/ Scroll down to Deferral Request )
Applicants can defer an application within one academic year only.
