When will I receive an admission offer?
Processing of early admissions applications for the Fall semester starts in October. Processing of regular admissions applications for the Fall semester starts in April. Processing of applications for the Spring semester starts in October.
Check your email regularly to see if supporting documents are required to process your application.
Admitted applicants will receive an official Admission Letter by email. Please note that receiving an AUS ID number and/or AUS email account does not mean that an applicant has been accepted to AUS.
What do I do if I don’t remember my online application username/password?
The username of apply.aus.edu is the personal email you used when creating your account.
Please refer to the following if you are facing difficulties logging in to apply.aus.edu:
- If you can’t log in due to a forgotten password, please reset your password by clicking on Forgot Your Password? and following the instructions.

What do I do if I don’t remember my banner.aus.edu or studentmail.aus.edu username/password?
If you have received the "AUS E-mail account credentials". by email that includes your AUS username and password, and you are facing login difficulties to access banner.aus.edu or studentmail.aus.edu, please reset your password by visiting passwords.aus.edu. Your User ID is your username: g000xxxxx or b000xxxxx.
If you can’t reset your password, please notify us through infodesk.aus.edu.

How to pay seat reservation deposit?
AUS has limited seats. Therefore, to reserve seats, undergraduate admitted applicants are required to pay a deposit of AED 5,000 (inclusive of 5% VAT). This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to others under any circumstances.
Undergraduate applicants who pay the deposit by the deadline indicated in the Admission Letter will be guaranteed a seat at the university.
Graduate applicants are not required to pay a seat reservation deposit.
The seat reservation deposit can be paid online using any major credit card.
We recommend using desktop/laptop and Google Chrome as the browser.

Can I join AUS even if I don’t get the required passing English Language Proficiency (ELP) scores (TOEFL/IELTS/EmSAT)?
Yes! Admitted bachelor’s degrees applicants scoring between 4.5 and 6.0 on the IELTS, or 400-540 ITP TOEFL or 32-79 iBT TOEFL, have the option to enroll in the Bridge Program to raise their score. Registration in Bridge Program courses is determined by TOEFL or IELTS scores and placement test scores if needed. For more information, visit www.aus.edu/bridge-program.
Admitted master’s degrees applicants scoring 6.0 in IELTS, or between 71 and 79 in TOEFL, can join AUS conditionally for one semester only. However, MBA and TESOL applicants and doctoral applicants are required to submit a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or ITP TOEFL score of 550, or iBT TOEFL score of 80, to be admitted.
What are the SAT / EmSAT Math / ACT Math Requirements for AUS?
To join AUS, applicants studying in American curriculum schools inside UAE must submit a minimum SAT Math score of 450 or an EmSAT Achieve Math result of 500 before the beginning of the semester.
Applicants studying in American curriculum schools outside UAE must submit a minimum SAT Math score of 450 or ACT Math score of 16 before the beginning of the semester to be able to join AUS.
SAT Math or EmSAT Achieve Math is mandatory for applicants within the UAE. International Applicants can submit either SAT Math or ACT Math as a mandatory requirement.

Does AUS accept Home/Online Schooling?
The UAE Ministry of Education mandates obtaining a certificate of equivalency for the secondary education certificate. Typically, the UAE Ministry of Education does not recognize online schools. Therefore, AUS does not consider applicants with online schooling credentials unless the applicant receives a UAE Ministry of Education Certificate of Equivalency.
Once you have obtained the final Certificate of Equivalency after completing the last year of schooling, please contact us so that we can assess the possibility of your enrollment at AUS.
Does AUS conduct entrance exams?
No, we don’t conduct entrance exams, but all bachelor’s degree admitted applicants are required to take major placement tests to be able to register for freshman-level courses. The purpose of the tests is to place students in the appropriate level of English, math, and physics. Students who don't have EPL scores may register for math and physics placement tests as required by their intended majors. However, students who don't have TOEFL/IELTS scores are not allowed to register for the English placement test. For more information, visit www.aus.edu/aus-placement-tests.
Does AUS offer TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT exams?
Yes, we offer TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT exams for AUS applicants and non-AUS applicants. This is in addition to other tests. For a list of all the tests offered at AUS, visit www.aus.edu/testing-center.
What are the secondary education certificates accepted by AUS?
AUS recognizes certificates awarded by ministries of education or by private schools and institutions. For detailed information, visit www.aus.edu/academic-requirements.

Does AUS offer financial grants or scholarships to undergraduate students?
Yes, we do. We offer several grants and scholarships to help students with their education costs. The university has designated funds available for highly qualified undergraduate students with limited financial resources. Admitted students who pay the seat reservation deposit before the deadline may apply for a financial grant regardless of their race, color, gender, religion, or national origin. Can AUS students transfer to any other institution of higher education in the United States or another country?
AUS students may transfer to any other institution of higher education in the world if they meet transfer conditions stipulated by the institution to which they wish to transfer.
Does AUS accept transfer students?

What is the Code of Conduct?
The Code of Conduct is a set of university rules and regulations outlined in the Student Handbook. It defines the standards of behavior expected from AUS students, and the conduct procedures and sanctions that will apply in cases where student behavior is inconsistent with the essential values of the university. Violation of these rules is treated as misconduct.
What on-campus services does AUS offer?
AUS provides its students with a variety of quality on-campus services. These include food outlets, coffee shops, a health clinic, a bookstore, a post office, a bank, mini-marts, and a sports complex, among others. Does AUS provide residency visas for its students?
Yes, AUS will assist accepted students in applying for a UAE student visa, if needed, as per UAE government rules and regulations. Approval of visa requests rests solely with the UAE Immigration Authority. For information on how to apply, visit www.aus.edu/international-students.
Does AUS offer afternoon classes, part-time, or correspondence programs?
All our degree programs require regular attendance. Therefore, no course can be completed by correspondence.
Undergraduate courses are offered on weekdays only from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, graduate courses are offered on weekdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., depending on the program.
Undergraduate candidates may apply for admission as part-time students. Undergraduate part-time students are not allowed to register for more than 12 credit hours per semester.
Is there any office or agency that officially represents AUS overseas?
AUS approaches the community directly. We are not represented by any office or agency outside the UAE. Our Office of Enrollment Management conducts several locals, regional, and international introductory campaigns to introduce the university to prospective students. We regularly participate in major local, regional, and international education, cultural and social events, fairs, exhibitions, and festivals.
