Nigerian Education System (WAEC)

Our minimum admission requirements depend on an applicant’s type of secondary education program and certificate. Admission to AUS is competitive, and the actual required minimum average for admission consideration will depend on the number of qualified applicants and the number of available places.

Below are the minimum requirements. Requirements might change without prior notice based on the majors. The final decision regarding any application is made by the Office of Admissions.

To be considered for admission students, who are taking the WAEC or NECO must obtain:
i. a minimum of eight subjects with an average of C4 (Only subjects with a grade of C6 or above will be counted)
ii. a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 80, or a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic)*

*Students who do not attain the required English Proficiency score on the Internet-based TOEFL or on IELTS (Academic version) but who meet AUS admission standards will be admitted to AUS Achievement Academy Bridge Program. The student’s placement in the appropriate level is determined by a placement test administered at the beginning of each semester.

The following documents are required for admission applications:

• final WAEC/NECO results along with the scratch card details (Examination number, test date, PIN number, serial number)
• valid TOEFL or IELTS score (if available at the time of application submission)
• colored passport scan
• colored UAE national ID scan (for UAE nationals and residents)

All applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application payment of AED 400. Transfer applicants are required to pay a non-refundable transcript evaluation of 400 AED (deductible from tuition upon joining AUS)
