Our minimum admission requirements depend on an applicant’s type of secondary education program and certificate. Admission to AUS is competitive, and the actual required minimum average for admission consideration will depend on the number of qualified applicants and the number of available seats.
To be eligible for admission consideration, students who are in the British system must complete at least 12 years of schooling, and obtain:
i. eight different IGCSE/GCSE and or GCE subjects with four C grades and four B grades or higher
ii. a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 80, or a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic)*
*Students who do not attain the required English Proficiency score, but meet AUS admission standards will be admitted to AUS Achievement Academy Bridge Program. The student’s placement in the appropriate level is determined by placement tests administered at the beginning of each semester.
Applicants who attain grade B or above in A Level subjects may be awarded course credits for freshman-level courses (up to 12 credits maximum).
The following documents are required for applying:
• IGCSE/GCSE or GCE Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA reports
• letter from your current school indicating completion or enrollment in grade 12
• colored passport scan
• colored UAE national ID scan (for UAE nationals and residents)
All applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of AED 400. Transfer applicants are required to pay a non-refundable transcript evaluation fee of 400 AED (deductible from tuition upon joining AUS)
Early Admission (highly recommended)
Because enrollment is usually limited, it is especially important for applicants to the College of Engineering and the College of Architecture, Art and Design to apply early. If you are in your final year of secondary school, you are encouraged to apply for early admission by submitting official IGCSE/GCSE or GCE Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA reports. Furthermore, applicants for College of Architecture, Art and Design majors must present passing IELTS or TOEFL score at the time of application submission.
Early admission is only offered to highly qualified applicants and is not considered final until students submit a recognized and officially certified secondary school certificate or equivalent showing successful completion of secondary education and all other items as requested in the Letter of Admission.
If you have completed your secondary school education and have the required IGCSE/GCSE or GCE Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA reports, you can apply through the regular admission procedure.
