Our minimum admission requirements depend on an applicant’s type of secondary education program and certificate. Admission to AUS is competitive, and the actual required minimum average for admission consideration will depend on the number of qualified applicants and the number of available seats.
Below are the minimum requirements. Requirements might change without prior notice based on the majors. The final decision regarding any application is made by the Office of Admissions.
To be eligible for admission consideration, students who are in the SABIS system must obtain:
i. an average of C+ in the final year, or C+ average in grade 10 and 11
ii. a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 80, or a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic)*
iii. SAT with a minimum score of 440 in MATH, or ACT with a minimum score of 18
*Students who do not attain the required English Proficiency score, but meet AUS admission standards will be admitted to AUS Achievement Academy Bridge Program. The student’s placement in the appropriate level is determined by placement tests administered at the beginning of each semester.
Applicants who attain 4 points out of 5 in Advanced Placement Test subjects may be awarded course credits for freshman-level courses. Applicants who attain grade B or above in A Level subjects may be awarded course credits for freshman-level courses (up to 12 credits maximum).
The following documents are required for applying:
• final grade reports of grade 10 and 11
• final grade 12 report (if available at the time of application submission)
• valid TOEFL or IELTS score (if available at the time of application submission)
• valid SAT/ACT score (if available at the time of application submission)
• colored passport scan

Early Admission (highly recommended)
Because enrollment is usually limited, it is especially important for applicants to the College of Engineering and the College of Architecture, Art and Design to apply early. If you are in your final year of secondary school, you are encouraged to apply for early admission by submitting official grade reports for grade 10 and 11 and SAT scores (as applicable). Furthermore, applicants for College of Architecture, Art and Design majors must present passing IELTS or TOEFL score at the time of application submission.
Early admission is only offered to highly qualified applicants and is not considered final until students submit a recognized and officially certified secondary school certificate or equivalent showing successful completion of secondary education and all other items as requested in the Letter of Admission.
If you have completed your secondary school education and have a secondary school certificate, you can apply through the regular admission procedure.
